                          You can follow some Online Banking Safety tips to ensure security of your online transactions. As this service helps you to checkout your banking statements, transaction details, transfer money etc... without going to your bank. This will more helpful while you're in travelling or even the bank closed. But these  sectors are targeting by hackers and intruders. So you have to make sure your online transaction is secure. Here are some security tips to improve your security. 


Secure Your Information


                    You have to secure you banking information like personal records, passwords, PIN (Personal-Identification-Number), Profile passwords, Credit/Debit card details. Here you can follow some tips for secure information.
  • Don't share your passwords, PIN number with others. 
  • Ensure the safety of sharing your Credit card details with third-party websites (Such cases try to read out their terms and conditions, privacy and security policies). 
  • Made the transactions only through a https(encrypted) connection. 
  • Before login to the Bank website make sure that the website has a lock icon on the browser's url field. 
  • Avoid logging in public places likes shared Wi-Fis, Internet Cafes etc... 
  • Periodically change your password. 
  • Confirm that the Bank website you're log in is not duplicated (Because hackers can make webpage that exactly looks like the original website).
  • Don't leave the computer unless you completely logout from your Banking session,
  • Delete your browsing history, Cookies, Cache or try to browse in Incognito Mode. 
  • Use virtual keyboard to type in your password and username. (This option is available in most of banking websites log in page itself). 
  • Starting your online banking only after confirming the exact name of the website and other security details from your bank.
  • You will definitely contact your bank for using their banking app in Smartphone. 
  • Don't try to click any pop-up window that appears on sites. 
  • You have to periodically check your bank account, statements, transaction details etc... 
  • Install OS security updates to your system or try to keep an updated Internet security software.

  • Register your phone number with your bank account (It will help you to tracks the activities of your account). 
  • Checkout the notification area in your account section which shows the recent activities, log in details etc...

  • If you forget your password, you can reset it only from your bank.
  • Your bank will never ask your password or personal information through any emails, phone or messages. 
  • If you lost your credit card, passbook, passwords (log in or profile password) you will definitely contact your bank to take necessary steps.

                                Here are some possible errors that commonly occurs when you're used to log in or using the Banking Website. 

  • Mistypes the password or Username.
  • Take extreme care to enter your password or username because sometimes you can try up to only 3 times in a day(its varies to banks). 
  • If the image verification failed reload the page after clearing the browser's cache, 
  • There is a session timeout in which automatically sign out after a period of inactivity to protect your online banking session (in such cases you have to sign in again to complete your transactions. 

Tips for Using Credit/Debit Card


  • Don't let anyone to enter the room while you type PIN number to the ATM. 
  • Cover with your hand or body while typing your PIN numbers to ATM or Point-Of-Sale (Swiping Machine). 
  • Don't forget to take the Credit/Debit card and transaction receipts once your transaction completed. 
  • Never let anyone to use your Credit card on behalf of you. 
  • You will immediately contact the bank for when your Credit/Debit was lost, stolen or stuck in ATM. 
  • Always keep your bank contact number.
